Hi there,
I am a bit puzzled by the ChangeVistaIcon function. The ico format supports icons of all sizes, and so does rtc, so why introduce a new function? Why not let ChangeIcon do it? I have tried it, and it kind of works. The only thing is that Resource Tuner does not show the icon dimensions, it reports 0x0 in the IconGroup. Which is strange because when I select the icon itself, it knows it's 256x256. I haven't tried 64x64 icons. I should also mention that I removed png compression from the large icons, otherwise it wouldn't work.

What I would like to know is how reliable it is to put ALL icons in the ico file for use with rtc, and not use ChangeVistaIcon at all, only ChangeIcon. Perhaps you have to use ChangeVistaIcon if you want png compression?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers, Steffen

Resource Tuner does not show the icon dimensions for .PNG files because the PNG format does not provide this information.

The ChangeVistaIcon function was introduced to handle .PNG files. If the .ICO file is all there is, you can use ChangeIcon, it's 100% reliable.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your post.
