I am trying to modify a free screen saver download (add some text and extend transition times)  Can I do this with this product.

With PE Explorer, you cannot change the functionality of a compiled program. To do so, you need to make changes to the source code and recompile the program.

What you can change is an application's resources. Resources can contain data in a number of forms, including icons, strings, images, dialogs - all that define the visible portions of Windows programs.

In general, a Windows application's resources are separated from the program code, letting you make significant changes to the interface without recompiling your entire application.

Apparently, screensavers have no interface elements except for icons and/or configuration dialogs.
