Hi!

I have a strange problem on my computer. If I run rtc with my script it immediately finishes with exitcode 0 and without reporting any error. My script is not executed at all. I added a log-message in the first line and even that is not processed.

I'm using Windows XP SP3 and RTC 1.52.

I also testet with the trial version of rtc 1.81, same problem.

I searched the faq but found nothing. The Windows-Scripting-Host is activated, I checked that.

I tested the script/RTC on another PC, it works just fine there. But I need RTC on my PC!

What else can I try?

Is it your custom script that fails or any sample script does not work on your computer?
Do you have any smart AV program installed? You might try to disable your antivirus or whatever protection you have and try it again.

Hi!

It's a custom script I'm trying to use. But it makes no difference. I now tried to run the demo script with the icons in the 1.81 demo version:
\Resource Tuner Console new\DEMO SCRIPTS\EDIT ICONS

I also deactivated my AntiVirus program, which didn't solve the problem. So that's not it.

As I said: The RTC starts and closes at once, without doing a thing.

Here is the log file that was printed:
********************************************************************************
Resource Tuner Console v1.81

Evaluation Demo-Version. 20 days left before the evaluation expires.
Starte Script [06.04.2010 10:23:48]
Script beendet [06.04.2010 10:23:49]
Bereits vergangene Zeit [00:00:01]
********************************************************************************

The first line in this script posts a debug string, just like in my custom script:
PEFileProxy.PostDebugString "Updating the checksum in the PE file header is enabled."

As can be seen, that line does not appear in the log file. I ran the same script on another PC and it worked fine, see:

Updating the checksum in the PE file header is enabled.
The creation of a backup copy is disabled.
Opening a file...

[and so on]

Thanks for the help, I hope we can get this to work.

Seems we don't go any further until you have a custom debug build. There may be many reasons as to why RTC doesn't work on your particular computer, and I don't see other way to narrow it down.

I received the Debug-Build and help regarding my problem. I really appreciate that, great support!

It turns out that there is some kind of licencing problem with the Windows Scripting Host on my computer. I'll try to figure out what has caused the problem. If I do, I'll post the solution here. Maybe it will help some fellow.
