Getting Started with AWicons PRO
AWicons PRO provides a wide range of drawing tools, transparency and color options, and features specifically designed to make icons and cursors.
To create a new project, simply launch AWicons PRO. A new icon project will be created automatically. To change the icon size or color depth use buttons (1) and (2) accordingly. To add a new icon format, use the "+" button on the Icon toolbar.
Effects toolbar (3) lets you add different effects to your icon image. The drawing area may be zoomed in or out simply by using the Zoom list box (4). All created icon images will be listed to the right of the drawing area (5).
You can preview the icon with different background colors without changing zoom using the built in Navigator. To change a background color, double-click inside the Navigator window and then select a color.
Fill properties includes gradient and fill properties. You can adjust fill properties and change the gradient mode and colors here.
AWicons PRO lets you apply a number of special, professionally designed effects. For example, to apply the Aqua effect to the current picture, select "Aqua" from the Effects menu, or choose the same effect using the Effects button.
One of the most frequently used effects is Drop shadow. To apply this effect to the circle, select "Shadow" from the Effects menu or click on the Effects button and choose "Shadow".
Press the "T" key or click on the icon (1) on the main toolbar to activate the Text tool. The Text properties window (2) opens automatically. Type in the text to be added to the icon and adjust the font settings.
